Whats going on BATMAN???

45ty7u8i9As we move forward with two Productions from Warner Brothers and some fans feel like being beaten down like a baby seal in Antarctica, the general fan public has come to accept Ben Affleck as the new Batman of the land of DC cinematic universe…however there seems to be a flickering of Light Within the bat signal that MIGHT bring this new Caped Crusader to a curtain close…

The word in the back alley streets of Gotham, is that the evil Warner Bros. are planning to “usher out” Ben Affleck as Batman – possibly as soon as after this fall’s Justice League film, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Despite Warners’ film studio chief Toby Emmerich telling the trade “Ben is our Batman. We love him as Batman. We want to keep him in the cowl as long as we can,” and The Batman writer/director Matt Reeves saying that he intends to keep Affleck in the role, a source tells THR that the studio is working on plans to usher out Affleck’s Batman.

Citing an unnamed source “with knowledge of the situation,” the intention is to do so “gracefully” and explain the change-over to a new actor (and possibly a new character) in a future DCEU film. We think that this is a DICK move…but maybe, just maybe what’s this franchise need’s, MORE DICK to move forward in a franchise that has been running for almost 75 plus years ?BUT who knows…

Affleck’s role in the DCEU grew much since being cast as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’s Batman, to include producing Justice League and signing on to write-and-direct The Batman. Since then, Affleck stepped down from directing his solo film, and in a recent interview the replacement director Matt Reeves said he is setting Affleck’s script (co-written with Geoff Johns) aside for a new story – one which THR says is a trilogy.

“…it would be wise to bet against Affleck starring in The Batman,” says THR.

So once again that is the skinny on what is going on in the dark alleys of things….but time will tell.
