Another Installment in the “Planet of the Apes” Franchise Continues to Entertain

Planet of the ApesI REALLY enjoyed this movie. It wasn’t a five star movie but it was just as good as the predecessors. The people in the theater seemed to enjoy it as I didn’t hear one negative comment about the movie as they were leaving.

I was intrigued from start to finish and thought the writing was superb. I won’t give too much about the plot but I did find the fight scene towards the end between (spoiler alert) Caesar and Koba very entertaining.

The cast roster including some good actors and some of them had excellent chemistry together. I found Gary Oldman’s performance as Dreyfus as the best. I also liked the scene where Malcolm (Jason Clarke)’s teenage son was interacting with one of the apes. The dialogue was compelling and told a story from both perspectives: the humans and the apes. Great writing overall.

Directing and special effects were superb, as well as the writing. I liked how it was filmed in British Columbia. Like I said, I don’t want to give away too much of the plot as I don’t want to spoil anything, aside from the (spoiler alert) above fight scene.

If you liked the previous installments of this franchise, you’ll enjoy this movie. I recommend all fans go out and see this in theaters. Until next time, ‘like’ us on Facebook at http://theWTFshow.com/facebook and ‘follow’ us on Twitter at http://theWTFshow.com/twitter. Stan Man is outta here!
