When I travel abroad I’m always surprised on  how limited the province of Ontario is when it comes to certain aspects AND how much of a Monopoly culture that its inhabitants truly live in. However, today that grasp has been loosened…somewhat, and it comes within the form of beer sales at mine/your local grocery store.

 

9879879798797_2That is absolutely correct (and you’re not reading this wrong) As of today, Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne announced the start of beer sales in 58 stores across the province. By May 2017, the province expects to approve 150 stores to sell beer.

So were one can buy beer at a grocery store, Here’s a (growing) list.

Waterloo Region residents who want to take advantage of beer in grocery stores can head to two stores in the region starting today:

  • Zehrs at 400 Conestoga Boulevard in Cambridge
  • Highland Hills Real Canadian Superstore at 875 Highland Road West, Kitchener

If you live in Guelph, you can buy from:

  • Metro, 500 Edinburgh Road South, Guelph

If you live in Paris:

  • Sobeys, 307 Grand River Street North, Paris
