65461321321465464For the past 8 months, the fate of our beloved Fredrick Twin Theatres was uncertain. After switching hands from the original owner, to a couple from Mississauga, it seemed like improvements were at a stand-still. The future of the Twin Theatres was not carved out in stone, and just 8 short months later, the theater has switched hands once again.

The good news is that renovations are finally underway to turn this site into something we can be proud of. Imagine Cinemas has taken the reigns of the theater, working to revitalize it. They are bringing in seats from Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, bringing a great piece of Hollywood right into Kitchener. They are also switching out equipment and upgrading the theater to digital projection. It is a refreshing face-lift, just what this prized Kitchener attraction needs.

Closed until at least the 11th of April, the renovations are well underway. While not bringing in 3-D, the theatre is still looking very promising for movie-goers of all ages.
